Kennedy Boboye has charged his boys to leave the disappointing draw against Rangers behind and focus on next their league game.
Akwa United were forced to a goalless draw by Rangers International at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo on Monday.
The draw however saw the Promise Keepers reclaimed NPFL top spot from Kano Pillars, but only on superior goal difference.
Akwa United will now travel to Okigwe where they will take on Abia Warriors in another tough clash on Thursday.
Boboye has now urged the boys to move quickly from the recent set back and be ready to amend against Abia Warriors.
“We have to shift our focus to Thursday’s game against Abia Warriors in Okigwe. We are still on top but only on superior goal difference so we need to keep fighting for points in all our matches”.
“Thursday game is very important for us, so we have to do our best ” he told the club media.
Kabiru Adeniji said MFM FC is battle ready for the south west derby against Sunshine Stars on Thursday.
MFM FC will head into the match as the in form team, as they have won all three matches since the restart, while Sunshine Stars managed to pick a draw and lost twice in that time.
In addition, the Ogunbote led Sunshine haven’t won any of their last 14 league game, a bad run that saw them dropped to the relegation zone.
Speaking ahead of the game, Kabiru Adeniji Kabiru who is in second stint at MFM FC, insisted that the Olukoya Boys are ready for the game and will not take Sunshine Stars for granted.
“We are desperate for another three points and we want to continue our good run of form as well “

The match is scheduled for Thursday at the Ondo state sports complex in Akure.
This June, all eyes will be on Europe as Euro 2020 takes centre stage. The quadrennial competition is taking place a year later than scheduled after the coronavirus pandemic forced it to be postponed last year.
This is the 16th edition of the Euros, but unlike the previous tournaments, this edition is different as it’s the first that would be played across the whole of Europe, with no designated host. The Euro 2020 tournament will run between June 11 – July 11, and there are fantastic odds on top Nigerian sports betting site Melbet for each of the games. Fans could also place a bet on the outright winners on Melbet.
For the first time in years, England head to a tournament as favourites. The Three Lions, along with France, who are world champions, are bookies favourites for the competition. Both sides are well stacked in all areas, with the likes of Harry Kane, Mason Mount and Harry Maguire all expected to lead England’s charge.
Meanwhile, France can count on the talents of players like Paul Pogba, Kylian Mbappe, Ngolo Kante and Karim Benzema, who surprisingly makes a return after six years away from the team. The French team will hope to emulate the class of 1998/2000 that won the World Cup in 1998 before conquering Europe two years later. Les Bleus are backed as tournament favourites on Melbet, with odds of 5.55 to win Euro 2020.
Meanwhile, the number one ranked nation in the world, Belgium, are also not far behind and could finally end their wait for a major international trophy after a third-place finish at the 2018 World Cup. Roberto Martinez’s side will rely on the quality of players like Eden Hazard, Kevin De Bruyne and Romelu Lukaku if they are to go all the way.
Portugal are the defending champions and have even gotten better since they won it in France five years ago. However, Cristiano Ronaldo is still the main guy in the team, and with him, they have a strong chance of retaining their trophy.
Spain will also be hoping to get back to winning international tournaments again after disappointing exits in the last three major competitions.
Italy missed the World Cup last time out, but they are back and have a squad with a blend of youth and experience. The Azzurris may not be as well stacked as their rivals, but they are good at international competitions.
Finally, Germany, the joint-most successful team in the competition, heads into the tournament with question marks over their form. But they are still a threat and are masters of international tournaments, having won four World Cups and three Euros.
Die Mannschaft’s manager Joachim Low departs his role at the end of the tournament after 15 years in charge, and will be replaced by departing Bayern Munich manager Hansi Flick, but he would be eager to leave on a high.

Head Coach of Akwa United Kennedy Boboye says his boys were unlucky not to walk away with all the three points against Rangers International on Monday.
The Promise Keepers played a goalles draw with Rangers at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium and missed golden opportunity to open a two point lead over Kano Pillars at the top of the table, although they extended their unbeaten run to twelve matches.
